Introducing Audi’s New Winter Cars

Audi A1 Sportback

As the end of 2018 draws near and we start to move into 2019, Audi is set to release a range of new and updated models this winter. From an improved hatchback to powerful Sportback and upgraded SUVs, there’s plenty of variety in store to suit many types of drivers. With a quality Audi warranty in place to protect your choice of the new German manufactured vehicles, you’ll be all set to get behind the wheel of one this winter, but which new Audi will it be?

Audi A1

This new version of the classic hatchback is now only available as a five-door Sportback. Still classed as a supermini, it’s longer, wider and lower than the previous version and has moved over to the MQB platform. There’s a wide range of petrol engines, starting with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo producing 95 bhp and moving up to the powerful 2.0 turbo that boasts 197 bhp. Reflecting the changing buying habits for new car drivers, all diesels have been dropped too, while the trim level differences mean you get an 8.8 or 10.1-inch touchscreen.

Audi Q3

As Audi’s mid-range SUV, the new Q3 is also bigger with a greater focus on technology. The same touchscreens available with the A1 are included, while there’s semi-autonomous driving with steering, braking and acceleration control. A rear sliding bench increases storage from between 530 to 675 litres depending on its position. Plus, with the backrest laid flat, load space grows to 1,525 litres.

Audi SQ8

The sporty version of the Q8 SUV model has a number of unique design elements that help it stand out. Sportier features enhance the crossover’s exterior, while under the bonnet it becomes the range-topping model thanks to its 429 bhp 4.0-litre V8 diesel engine (the same one shared with the SQ7). It had been suggested that there would be a hybrid V6 powertrain option, but instead it seems the alternative will be a 3.0 TFSI V6 petrol model for those shying away from diesel.

Audi RS5 Sportback

Joining the RS5 coupe is this hot Sportback model. It’s due to launch with a 444 bhp twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, with the five-door Sportback style a lot more practical. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox provides smooth control, while the bigger 19-inch alloys and larger-bore exhaust tailpipes improve the exterior style. Though expect a higher price than the current £60,000+ for the standard RS5.
