Created to be safe and efficient, the SEAT Ibiza offers a multitude of great benefits to drivers; and as far as vehicle leasing goes, the Ibiza is a fantastic option.

The SEAT Ibiza was first introduced to the motoring world over 30 years ago, and has since become a worldwide hit. The Spanish Supermini is SEAT’s best-selling car, and it’s easy to see why. So if you’re looking at lease cars and can’t decide which to go for, then look no further.

Design
The great thing about the Ibiza is that it’s both attractive to look at, and fun to drive. It was actually designed by Luc Donckerwolke, Lamborghini’s head of Design, which explains its striking good looks. It has a very sporty and stylish vibe, which often appeals to younger drivers. However the Ibiza still manages to remain practical. The front end of the car is very dynamic, with a low grille and sharply-styled headlights. This charismatic car has real flare, and definitely stands out from its rivals on the road.

Performance
SEAT is owned by Volkswagen, which is why the Ibiza is powered by one of VW’s excellent engines. There are a wide range of petrol and diesel engines to choose from, depending on what you want to get out of your drive. The 1.2 litre petrol is nippy, and great if you’re travelling short distances or zipping around the city. Although the smaller engines will offer adequate power for your basic driving needs, they may struggle on longer journeys or with extra weight in the car. If you’re planning on regularly travelling long distances and often have passengers in the back seats, then one of the bigger engines (1.4 litre TSI petrol or 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine) would suit you best.

Handling
WhatCar? Says the Ibiza’s suspension is ‘quiet and supple, and the body is well controlled’ and we definitely agree. The handling is smooth whilst travelling down winding country roads with minimal body roll, and easily soaks up potholes and speedbumps. This impressive handling also makes it great fun to drive around the city on shorter trips. The Ibiza offers drivers a refined ride, and allows you to drive with precision and accuracy. All of these things considered, it makes the Ibiza a very rewarding car to drive.

Running Costs
As we mentioned earlier, there are a wide range of engines for the Ibiza, which means that there is an engine to suit every budget. The smaller engines may on the slower side, but they make up for it with their good fuel economy and cheap insurance. The 1.2 litre TDI diesel is in the second-lowest tax band, so it’s very cheap to run, and you can get a good 70mpg. The 1.6 litre TDI and 2.0 litre TDI are more powerful, and you can still get a decent 60mpg from them. The 1.2 and 1.4 litre petrol engines are also very affordable. Overall the smaller your engine, the cheaper your running costs and tax bandings.

Interior
The Ibiza has a very distinctive and simple interior, with the dashboard logically laid out for you. The driver and front passenger also have plenty of space, and it’s easy to get comfortable. There is a supportive driver’s seat which also has height adjustment; and the steering wheel is adjustable for both rake and reach. Meaning that you can customise your most comfortable driving position. However, things get a little cramped towards the back of the car where the legroom is tighter, so it’s probably not best if you take regular long journeys with passengers in the back. The Ibiza does make up for it however with a decent amount of boot space.

Overall, the distinctive SEAT Ibiza gives drivers a great balance between price and performance.

This no nonsense Supermini offers you an engaging ride that’s easy on your wallet and is arguably more fun to drive than some of its rivals, the Renault Clio and Vauxhall Corsa.
