Best tech launches at CES 2024 that we would love to own
CES is a great expo for the latest, most innovative, and even the weirdest tech that brands develop each year. For many, events like these offer a glimpse at some of the lesser-known sides of the technology world – from unheard-of gadgets to quirky electric vehicles and much more.
CES 2024 was no different, and besides some very believable announcements like the world’s lightest gaming laptop to the first transparent TV, we also had some interesting new launches this year. Here’s a list of the best tech unveiled at CES 2024, which we would love to own.
Clicks for iPhone physical keyboard case
For anyone who loves the feeling of typing on a physical keyboard, the Clicks for iPhone keyboard is an attachment that turns your iPhone into a Blackberry-esque hybrid device. Essentially an attachable keyboard, it also covers your phone from all sides, acting as a funky-looking protective case as well.
Samsung in-and-out folding screen
The Samsung In-and-out folding display is a screen that can be flipped both inwards and outwards. Still a concept, the display offers some unique possibilities. Imagine a Galaxy Fold-like device that can fold inwards completely shut, or outwards so the device is all-screen. This new form factor would also eliminate the need of a second outer display.
TCL 50 NxtPaper smartphone
TCL, a TV and display-maker, doesn’t make a lot of smartphones, but its newest phone, the TCL 50 NxtPaper is something special. A regular phone by design and specifications, the phone has TCL’s signature NxtPaper display, which gives the screen a matte effect, and more importantly, a paper-like feel to the touch.
Belkin Auto Tracking Stand Pro
We’ve covered Belkin’s newest stand in detail too, but the summary of it is a stand that can hold your iPhone and track your movements to always face you. A boon for solo creators, the stand eliminates the need for someone to hold a phone to record you, and if that wasn’t enough, it also charges your phone while at it.
Sony Afeela concept EV
Sony’s first EV (Electric Vehicle) is an interesting announcement for all that it brings. Announcing the Afeela, Sony Honda Mobility President Izumi Kawanishi drove the electric vehicle onto the stage with nothing but a remotely connected DualSense controller – the same one that powers your PS5. While the average user will not be able to drive this car with a controller, the gesture does showcase the possibilities of this car.
Hyundai Supernal S-A2 ‘flying taxi’
Hyundai’s air mobility division also announced the Supernal S-A2, the brand’s second-gen eVTOL aircraft, or simply put, an air taxi. The Supernal A-A2 is capable of vertical take-off and landing and can carry four passengers with luggage at a time. It can also operate from helipads and hit speeds of up to 120 mph at a cruising altitude of 1,500 feet.
C Seed N1 foldable TV
If you’ve heard of C Seed before, its likely for one of their other unique luxury TV designs. The brand’s latest announcement at CES 2024 is the C Seed N1 foldable TV, a TV that despite its 165-inch screen, can effortlessly fold into its own stand and practically disappear from your living room.
Kohler PureWash E930 Alexa bidet
We’re sure nobody imagined a toilet you could talk to, to be one of the talking points at CES 2024. Kohler, however, had different ideas. The new Kohler PureWash E930 bidet is an Alexa-enabled washroom companion that can listen to your commands to turn its functionality on or off. It can even clean itself with UV after.
DeRucci Anti-Snore pillow
Only those who sleep with someone who snores will understand the pain. Fortunately, sleep-health company DeRucci has a solution – a pillow that can automatically detect snoring and move your head’s position to eliminate it. The pillow also has a layer of AirBags to support your neck, spine and hips when you switch positions mid-sleep.
Razer gaming cushions with haptics
Razer’s new gaming chair is almost reminiscent of the suit from Ready Player One that could let gamers feel all impacts and sensations from the game. The Project Esther seat cushions can be integrated into multiple types of products, and deliver a real-time, haptic feedback from your favourite games.
